About Art Jakarta 2018

Since its first edition in 2009, Art Jakarta has developed and established itself as the most prominent contemporary art fair in Indonesia and the region. As the first and foremost art fair in Indonesia, Art Jakarta embraces all stakeholders, from artists, galleries, collectors, to art enthusiasts, and serves as a platform in the development of Indonesia’s art market and discovery of new talent. 2018 will be an important year for Art Jakarta as it will mark its 10th anniversary.

In 2017, over 47,000 visitors attended Art Jakarta. Nearly 80% of all artworks exhibited were sold during the fair’s four opening days.

In this tenth implementation, Art Jakarta will come with many interesting presentations and give a new dimension in Indonesia’s art. The supports of MRA Media as the organizer of Art Jakarta under MRA Group’s ownership which making lifestyle as its core business, are the important point in Art Jakarta’s implementation. With a 360 degree media publication, Art Jakarta has succeeded in reaching a proud achievement, combining conventional art markets as a part of lifestyle. It is shown from the artists’s enthusiasm which increasing each year, from the participant to visitor section.

For the 2018’s event, Art Jakarta will also present many interesting programs in collaboration with some local and international partners in a creative way such as art activities in a mall, creative art performances, special projects with artists, creative art talk and also workshop classes. Art Creative Area will also be the important part in presenting lifestyle products in an art theme. All of these will support and make Art Jakarta as a melting pot and presentation of Indonesia’s diversity in art with a lifestyle touch.

The participation and support from both our official and private partners is yet another cornerstone of Art Jakarta’s strong position. The Indonesian Government’s continued support opens opportunities for young artists to present their works at the fair and be discovered by the public at large. Art Jakarta 2018 will be held 2-5 August 2018 and return to the same premium location since its first edition: The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place. Located in the central business district and the heart of Jakarta, Pacific Place is Jakarta’s luxury shopping center, home of international popular brands, and guarantees a vast pool of potential visitors. It is also the best address for any event, also for the aspiring middle class who make mall visits a part of their lifestyle.
